Hello there.
I'm from Poland and I have a Polish version of this great game, cause it's the only version avaible in my country of course.
But however I really don't like other language versions of games than English.
Please tell me is there any way to somehow convert my Polish version into fully English ??? It's very important to me and having English version of this game would make me much happier playing it.
Hope to hear from You...
Camillo, Poland.
PS: I'm sorry for my English, I'm from Poland and English is not my primary language.

You would need all of the files that contain the languages of the game...which boils down to almost all of them. I think there might also be a Local. file that says what lang. the game is in, but I'm not entirely sure.
After personally going through and modding a lot of the files myself, I can tell you there are quite a few with stuff that shows up in the game.
Of course, if someone else can come up with an easier way, I'm all ears as well

So - if I get this right - does it mean that all those texts appearing in the game are sitting in many, many different game files? If that's correct then I think there definately should be something like a Local. file you mentioned which just desribes which language the game should use from all those files, right?
Even if I manage to find some file like that then how can I edit it? I know there is some xbig.exe application or something for extracting .xbg files but is it possible to extract that file, change it, and then just simply put it into .xbg again?

I'm probably getting in over my head here, hopefully someone will come and correct me if I'm wrong.
In the other UFO games (I know this one is not part of that group) there was a Local file. If you swapped it out with a Local file for another language, it would change the language in the game to whatever the new local file was.

Unfortunately, I found this matter much worse than I expected...
After extracting all of .xbg files I didn't find any .local-like file... Also there are texts in many different files...
But I've done some experiment. I've installed English latest Patch at my Polish version. Guess what - it did sucessfuly install and moreover it does change in-game texts in English! But... Not all of them... So very most of texts (like ufopedia ones) are English but just some of them remain Polish, like communicates in upper right corner of the screen... So I'm definately not satisfied, cause it's stupid to have partially Polish and partially English texts in the game...
Any thoughts how to solve this?
