I have bug with dual craft selection.
I have one or two crafts intercepting, want to add more and at some point (3 or more crafts in action) two of them start to get selected both while I click only one.

On the other forum, the users have pretty much agreed that Patch #2 of UFO ET needs better timing or triggers on the introduction of new Armor types:
http://ufo-scene.com/plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?2999.20
http://ufo-scene.com/plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?2999.0
--
The research is imbalanced the way Armor is done now. If you aren't warned with lots of spoilers and race up the tech tree, you can easily find yourself facing Era 4 Aliens in Era 1 Beekeeper Armor, and that's just not right!
Anyway, I thought it should be mentioned here as well, where one of the game developers might see the issue and get it resolved for us in the next UFO ET patch.
--
Also, in that thread, VincentPrice also introduces a mod that works with the original plain vanilla UFO ET and solves one half of the problem, the low values on the Armor which also feeds into the Armor imbalance.
There's actually an Armor stats imblance, and a research imbalance where Armor is concerned -- two major imbalances where the Armor is concerned.
Oh well, it's all over there in that thread, for the developers to study and make up their own minds. But, it's actually kind of buggy the way that Armor in UFO ET is being done. It's certainly severely annoying!

I'm having this weird bug where my Anacondas are teleporting around and actually FOLLOWING my mouse cursor. They'll even fire from their "new" position, but if I move them, they zip back to where they should be, then travel to their assigned destination. It's extremely annoying and it might force me to stop using them, which would be unfortunate because they're so powerful.
I'm using Bman's UFO Ease of Use Mod 2.04 as part of a Frankenmod package (I can't remember which iteration and the version number isn't listed anywhere I can see). I'm also using OVNI's Tactical Mod. The only thing I turned off was the helmet mod.

Problem is that both ships have same name, which is not allowed in normal situation. I will try to prevent this inconsistent state.

Thank You, I'll try to rename them both, but I still have same problem with newly-built Lightnings which have different display names "by built".
Is there some other, internal name?

Hi
there is no need to rename executable in Paradox version!
patch 2 applies wrong on paradox version , patch creating projectX.exe executable, but paradox interactive version should be ufo_et.exe .

Hey,
I recently installed this and patched it up, and the game will crash if I try to enter the settings menu, or once I am in game if I try to rotate the geoscape using the arrows on the interface.

Posted: Thu Oct 16, 2008 4:30 am Post subject: 2-byte Asian Language Show Stopping Game Bug |
|
|
Hello Chaos Concepts,
I have had this problem ever since the game came out but I was just patiently awaiting a patch that has never came about. If anyone selects a 2-byte language (Japanese, Korean, Chinese, any Asian language) as their primary language under regional settings for Windows, the game will give you a this message when you click on it and attempt to open it up.
"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Tri Synergy\Ufo Extraterrestrials\UFO ET.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information."
Now I understand that this game is not designed for Japanese windows, that's not what I am talking about, I have English windows on my computer that was bought in Canada, I am merely using the Japanese language with English windows. However I tested this game on Japanese windows and the game also crashes. The game does work however when you select a non 2-byte language like French or English, or German. If you go to regional settings in the control panel on Japanese Windows XP and then change the language under Unicode to French, then the game will work perfectly fine, if you change it to Japanese, you can duplicate this error. The problem is, you have to reboot your computer 2-3 times every time you want to play this game!
I have read many different posts about this bug in the Chinese and Japanese forums and all over the internet. This is a huge show stopping bug for anyone that lives in Asia or merely just wants Asian keyboard support on their computer. If there are any questions into the details of this problem please message me. Recently I had a very similar problem with Quazar's new game Dark Horizon and Tarr Chronicles, it only took them a day to come out with a patch for the 2-byte language problem so I hope you can fix this too. If you go over to their forums, maybe you get a hint for a solution to this problem.
I bought this game on the day it was made available, I paid over 50 dollars for this game at the time because he was the only seller available to ship it to me in Canada. Actually, this is the whole story, I repeat this story because it is almost funny. Here we go, on the day it game out I ordered it from Matrix games and asked them to ship it to my father-in-law in Japan because I didn't want to be distracted by games while I was getting prepared to move to Japan and I thought if I had a cool present waiting for me, it would be fun. So I waited, and waited, and called Matrix games and they told me that they had zero copies in stock and that they have a production on demand and that my order was being processed and it would just take a little more time. So every 2 weeks I called them back, asked them what happened to my game, and seven months later I demanded they either send the game priority or send me my money back, they said that they could give me credit but could not give me my money back. I then said, "credit? credit for what? I don't want a refund I want my game!" I wouldn't hang up this time, I called and called until I spoke to a manager, he told me that the company I was calling was Digital River which was just a distributor for Matrix games and has nothing to do with Matrix games and if I want to get a refund I have to call Matrix or send them an email. My first email went over really well, the Matrix guys seems appologetic and that they could get their European distributor to send me a copy. Another month passes and after countless emails and threatened court and wrote them a professional scary letter (courtesy of my buddy who is going though law school) they refunded my credit card. Now it is 8 months past the release of UFO:ET, so then I went on eBay and found a UFO:ET in the box with instructions brand new in perfect shape, who only sold to north American residence, so I bought it and sent it to my moms house for 50 bucks. It arrived at my mom's in perfect condition and my mom shipped it directly to me for another 30 dollars(express) . Now it has been 9 months past the release day of UFO:ET, by this time I was desperately awaiting the day I can finally play this game, I was almost taken back at how much pain and torment it took to receive just one game. I received the package in the mail, opened it, it felt like Christmas, invited one of my buddies over who was here at the time, I even remember sitting around my computer, I was so excited as I have been waiting for this game for years to come out , I was so anxiously awaiting to play this game, man I was really excited, loading it up, and boom Runtime error , then he laughed at me, hehehehe. I truly hope this bug can be solved as it is just a nightmare for any people who has any Asian language installed on their computer.
By the way, I really like Chaos Concepts! This company has some serious guts for creating a game like this, I know I have only purchased one game from Chaos Concepts, but the next game they release I plan to buy it too, it is very rare I think for a company to put out something like this. We just gotta get this show stopping but fixed . Thank you so much.
